As fires have torn through Northern California this past week, thousands of acres of beautiful land has been destroyed and thousands of families have been displaced. While fitness and nutrition are passions of mine, I’m reminded that friends, family, faith and community remain the cornerstone of a positive and joyful life.
This recent disaster hits hard as my family and home in northern Napa Valley were prone to the wave of destruction by these fires. However, while my family and I faced this challenge, we were supported by countless individuals who have shared their thoughts and prayers.
While the past three days have been extremely difficult, it is inspiring to see friends, family and community come together in support of each other. I’d be remiss to not thank the countless firefighters, police officers, American Red Cross and volunteers who have stepped up to support their community. These men and women are heroes.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been impacted by disasters. If there is anything we’ve learned after events in Houston, Florida, Las Vegas, Mexico and Northern California, it’s that community will always come together in the toughest times.
As Napa Valley and Sonoma County work to return to a state of normality, I’m eager to refocus my efforts to the SusanHoff.Fitness program and help people #StartAHealthyHabit. Stay tuned on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest as we pick up the pace!
